How NFT Games finally give back to gamers

Background for the Blog Content section

Gamers, you deserve better.  For too long, your time in-game and your assets weren’t being rewarded.  With the introduction of blockchain/Web3 and NFT (Non-fungible tokens), a new level of ownership has been unlocked.  A new way to earn by playing a game and a new way to have power in fostering a gaming community.

Let’s dissect exactly how NFT games give back to gamers.

Real rewards for your gaming hours

Imagine this: you’re playing a highly addictive game for multiple hours daily.  It’s fun and challenging, plus your friends are playing it.  But when you tally up those hours over weeks or years, what do you have to show for it? Most of the time, those countless hours and dollars are spent with little to no tangible benefit in return.  Read this cautionary gaming story for proof.  NFT games empower users to be rewarded for their time.

These NFT games include the benefit of buying, selling, or trading the NFTs in an open marketplace where the reward can be a cryptocurrency.  With that cryptocurrency, you can sell it for real money, spend it within the ecosystem, or trade it for another currency.  Another way to earn crypto is to play the game itself.  Instead of a locked in-game currency like Fortnite’s ‘Vbucks’, you can earn a tradeable cryptocurrency like 3ULL coin by playing NEXUS.  Those countless gaming hours are no longer spent in vain because they now provide a source of income. This appeals to many gamers who wish their time could be more productive, offering a sense of purpose and reducing frustration in grind-heavy games.

Actual ownership that matters

For many decades, big video game companies like Blizzard had a stranglehold on player’s ownership.  They could ban you for various reasons, and that ban meant your in-game assets would now be frozen indefinitely.  Sometimes, this resulted in lost time; other times, it meant losing the money spent purchasing those digital items. Losing years of progress due to a ban or a game shutting down can be incredibly disheartening. Having the option to transfer your characters, skins, items, or assets outside the game is essential.  That’s where NFT solves that issue.  If unforeseen circumstances force a player to abandon a video game voluntarily, those in-game assets can be traded, so it’s not a complete loss for the player.

A new way of ownership outside NFTs is owning a game/company node. PLAYA3ULL GAMES has decided to distribute nodes so users can claim daily 3ULL coins and help run the network.  This becomes another option for gamers who want to be in an ecosystem but may not have many hours to play.  The nodes can be fractional, so you can pool with other users and share a node.  This allows players to retain value even after they stop playing or take a break.

Building a community-driven experience for players

One of the most unique opportunities new blockchain games offer players is a verified way of deciding the direction of games. A DAO is a Decentralised Autonomous Organisation in which only holders of a specific token can vote.  But how do they verify holders?  Using the blockchain and a digital wallet, the DAO scans the wallet for the specific NFT or token.  This also ensures the decision-makers are invested in the game and have its best interests at heart.  DAOs can be responsible for how a game’s treasury is distributed, which proposals get accepted or rejected, and even earning a tax on specific actions in-game.  As a result, decisions are no longer solely made by the CEOs; the community also gets their say.  Splinterlands is a trading card game that has a strong community focus, where token holders play an active role in shaping future content and making adjustments through community proposals.

This transparency in governance also encourages more collaboration between developers and gamers.  In NFT gaming, players also become investors, aligning their interests with the game’s success. This helps ensure that decisions support the game's longevity rather than selfish actions, such as draining the game’s treasury. With the handy edition of Discord, players are equipped with the tools to shape the game they love and can reward community members and leaders with incentives.  Recently, we launched the ‘Big3ULL chat’, a dedicated space for investors to connect directly with the PLAYA3ULL GAMES team. NFT games break the barriers of traditional games and let players get insights much earlier than everyone else.  Creating a much-needed thriving community experience.

We hope this blog highlighted the benefits of NFT gaming and ushering in a new frontier for video games to explore.  Actual ownership of in-game assets and being rewarded for your hard-earned hours of gameplay are things all games should have.
